Dr. Andrew Dutta is born in a family that is continuing astrological practice since the last 225 years. His maternal great-grandfather was late Surendranath Jyotir Vachaspati of Khulna, in Bangladesh. Before his demise he handed down the lineage to his mother, late Srimati Deblina (Smt. Ujjwala Dutta), an eminent and illustrious astrologer of Kolkata, who breathed her last on 22nd April 2014 morning.
Since birth, Dr. Andrew has observed his mother providing consultancy to people, and he grew up hearing the names of planets, stars, and Rashis as part of his family culture. His mother, his first Guru, initiated him into the vast ocean of astrology. Two great Gurus in the field of professional astrology, Jyotiryogi ji (Sri Pramod Ranjan Mahanto) and late P.V.K. Punneswara Rao ji, formally trained him in astrology.
